5My mom helped me out with this one, particularly the fondant fire truck while I was in the kitchen finishing up the polka dots on the cake. When she saw the finished product, she screeched "THAT'S SO CUTE!!!" so loud I think she might have done some permanent damage to my eardrums.

9Thanks everyone. I made this the same day I made the "callas and ivy" cake and I was SO tired by the end of that day, and I still had to drive to Atlanta that afternoon!
If you're going to be so tired after a day at work, it may as well be doing something that you enjoy. My wise words of the day lol

I agree. When I leave my "real" job, I am always tired, but I always feel like I didn't accomplish half of what I could have if I were doing something I enjoyed instead. Probably because I never do.
11And it doesn't end at 5pm. - or whatever time you leave your office, a cake gives people joy and pleasure and it gets to stay forever in their pictures
I truly hope that you will soon be able to make cakes and all those yummy treats 24/7!

Adorable!! I wish I could get my buttercream that smooth. I tried the technique you suggested and it just wouldn't work for me.
