I had a client this morning asking about the best way to cut a wedding cake. I'm terribly sorry that she is going to have to cut her daughter's wedding cake, but there is no way I'm going to get sucked into cutting a wedding cake I made ever again, it's just too painful to have to do all that work and then in essence destroy all that you have created. But I digress....

Wilton has a great website that shows the proper way to cut up different shaped cakes in order to get uniform piece for each guest that is requesting a piece of cake. I thought that this information might be useful to some of you who make cakes, and also to those who just enjoy eating cake, but want to have a really great resource to know how to most efficiently create individual servings. Here is the website, and in addition to the cake cutting guide, that website is chock full of all kinds of other useful information related to cake decorating such as ideas for cakes, how to transport and store a cake, and even step by step directions on how to make a variety of special occasion cakes.

Enjoy!
